...it's a beautifull place,nice people, very tasty food.....and absolutely fantastic atmosphere...."I love One 99 restaurant!" ;-)
What happened? Came last year and it was great. I have to say the steak I had tasted ok but was about 6 oz. Not right for the price. Wheres the food gone? Service is good.
My wife and I decided to have our wedding anniversary dinner at One99. The service was excellent and expected of a class establishment. The dining area was clean, and nicely designed with subtle lighting. The only complaint, and it appears I am not alone, is the food portioning. My fish eats more than what we were served and would still crave more! I know it is common for these types of establishments to focus more on presentation than portions, but there really has to be a happy medium because I think everyone remembers the satisfaction of being full moreso than the drizzle of sauce on the rim of the dish used when plating to visually expand the portion...nice trick, but leave the art for the walls! The food tasted great, but again, it is torturous to tease people with tiny samples. I may try again someday, but it would likely be for lunch when my appetite can afford to be disappointed.
I visit several times a year, with out of town and local friends. This is the first time that I have gone on line to "review" any restaurant. The food, the artistic and colourful servings, the attentiveness of the staff, all of whom (even the chefs) are open to menu changes to suit indivudual tastes are paramount. A warm, friendly and great place to be when with friends any night of the week.
Well even though I enjoyed my meal, I was disappointed in the new menu and much preferred the old menu and we were saddened that some old favorites were gone! But we have dinner plans to return soon. Love the atmosphere and decor, food is fabulous!
