Our food took so long that we ended up leaving...

Our food took so long that we ended up leaving after waiting about an hour. My bf and I wanted to grab some dinner before heading to the symphony tonight, I suggested Badali's on Front St, boy was that a mistake. The place was quite busy, but most restaurants in the theatre district would be at dinner time. We ordered pretty quick, got our drinks, our waitress was nice. We got our appetizer - mozzarella and ricotta fritters, which were small, but very good. Our bf had a house salad with his dinner - he didn't like, it was just lettuce with some sweet dressing that tasted "off" and a few tomatoes thrown in. I didn't get an appetizer since it was so expensive already with what we had ordered. We waited for our main dish, and waited. Got some refills on our drinks, waited for our bread which was supposed to come too. Our waitress told us our food should be out soon. I started noticing that people who were seated after us were getting their food. We waited and waited. We decided that if we didn't get our food soon we would leave. We were both getting pissed off, we called the waitress over and told her that it was taking too long and that we are leaving. I saw her talking to someone who looked like the manager, they were wandering around the kitchen area. He comes over and tells us that our food is here now, a waiter came over with it just then, we told him that we had somewhere to be that and we were leaving, it took too long, an hour to wait on your meal is not acceptable. He said that he didn't know what happened. We asked him how much we owed him and he said not to worry about it. We ended up not paying anything and probably won't be spending any money at Badali's ever again anyway. Not recommended. Service is bad, food is over-expensive and takes waay too long.

As it was my first time to Toronto, I really wanted to find some great restaurants. I didn't know what I was in the mood for and stumbled upon Joe Badali's. I have never had such a great dining experience! The atmosphere is awesome, the waiter was great, and the food was delicious. I would highly recommend it to everyone!!

Worst service ever

I went to Badalis five years ago. The first time I went it was with a large party. I noted that it was overpriced and that 50% of the toilets in the bathrooms didn't flush. I went again when the restaurant was mostly empty with a small party. There was no service beyond getting our food (which was no longer warm, it must have been sitting), we flagged down at least three people to try and get more drinks, all of whom promptly forgot what we asked for until our waitress came back asking what we'd like to order for dessert. Again she went missing for the rest of the meal, until after our table was cleared by someone else and she gave us the bill. Lo and behold, the same toilets which still were not quite flushing were there. The only thing new is the ads in the bathroom that make noise. It seems location is the only thing keeping this place running. A very sketchy experience.

Worst Meal Ever!!

I can say this was my worst experience. I should have checked out the washroom first usually a good sign if its clean the food is usually good, four stalls and only 1 was okay to use. Too late I had already ordered. Salad was limp lettuce my daughter's had stale croutons couldn't eat mine waited quite a while for my gingerale after salad came had to ask for bread which was a half a stale bun. When the meal finally came I started with a bite of the veal thought nothing special but when I put the pasta in my mouth I thought I was gonna puke it tasted moldy, I couldn't spit it anywhere and was forced to swallow it couldn't eat anything else then. Called over the manager and he really didn't seem to concerned asked if I wanted anything else of course no all I wanted at this point was to leave had to wait for the bill server brought it said meal was comped but had to pay for drinks not even an apoligy, nada , zippo, so needless to say never goin back will recommend people use caution when going to this place

The Risotto fritters were one of the best appetizers I've ever had. Came with two tasty sauces, pasta sauce(best ever) and garlic. The pizza is by far the best pizza I've ever had. The food was amazing and so was the service.
