This place is incredable, the food is gourmet for a reasonable price, and the desserts are to die for. they have the most extensive beer menu around and the wait staff are completely knowledgeable on all of them. Definately first class in casual dining.

What a neat little restaurant! St Veronus is a little bistro/pub style restaurant right in Dowontown Peterborough. They have a huge selection of Belgian beers, along with the usual beverages. What sets them apart is the food. They take what one would consider standard pub fare (sandwiches, salads etc) and raise the bar on them. They also have more 'fine dining' type menu entries, but I tend to go there when I want a good sandwich. My faourite menu item is the "Per Andre" sandwich. It consists of Bison Sausage, Caramelized onions, and Cheese (Gruyere maybe?) on grilled sour dough. Yum!! Most meals are served with Stompf (spelling?) which is Mashed potatoes with an attitude. I'm not a potato fan but I enjoy these. Their appitizers are also fantastic. The Charcutterie platter is a mixture of meats (sausage), cheeses, vegetables and fruit server on a cutting board. The cheese fondue is also very nice.

This restaurant has an excellent selection of Belgian beers, but what really struck me was the food. I am not a big fan of pub fare, so I was very pleasantly surprised with my choice of seafood stew -- not oily at all, with plenty of mussels, shrimp, clams, scallops and tomatoes in a tasty garlic beer broth served with 7-grain bread and a full salad for $12.99. My date had the pork tenderloin with onion molasses reduction, salad and Belgian mashed potatoes. Reasonable prices, friendly service and a delicious meal = can't wait to go back!

A good location on the corner of Water and Hunter streets in the heart of a growing city. The best lunch menu I have had the pleasure of indulging in. Yet at the same time provides the customer with a weath and variety of beers to experience. This Belgian tap room provides a comfortable dining experience, and at the same time leaves the client highly satiated.
