Many music fans have taken to the digital world of downloads and MP3s, but Heritage Music & Posters remains a brick-and-mortar institution for music fans seeking new and used hard-to-find vinyl, pop culture memorabilia and more. Owner Jerry Keogh opened the store as a means of turning his music-collecting hobby into a business. With a personal record stash comprised of more than 8,000 records, Heritage allows him to share his love and knowledge of music. “The best part about coming in every day is playing; just listening to music,” he says.

The store features brightly hued walls decorated with a carefully curated selection of music posters, show flyer artwork, autographed memorabilia and other way-cool music ephemera. Rather than focus solely on records and CDs, Keogh incorporates an artistic element into the business with the addition of music posters, tour flyers and rare music art pieces. These artifacts include items such as a photograph of the Rolling Stones taken by their tour manager at a hotel in Saskatchewan. A small paper sign placed on the massive wall-hung print reads “Ask mom and dad for a loan.”
