There is a huge difference between a family owned restaraunt and a box shop. If you want bagged meat and pre portioned specials then do not go here. My family and friends have been coming here for upwards of 10 years. Since we have been coming, they have had the same 2 chefs, same owners, and same front house staff, we always know that our experience will be fantastic. They are always willing to accommodate (and remember ) my families various likes and dislikes, seating us at our favorite table, and make us feel like we are truly welcome. The food is hot, homemade, traditional, delicious and worth every penny. The service is knowledgeable, delightful, and efficient. We had a huge group visit, and the food was served very fast. I got a heaping portion of salad because I substituted it for my fries. So pleased :). The waitresses were very accomodating to the large number. Read more

I am confused by the "American" designation, since it is clearly German, right down to the delicious spaetzle and red cabbage. (You can only get the red cabbage if you ask, it isn't on the menu.) The schnitzels are very good, with ample portions. (We have never tried the homemade desserts -- too full!) The meat is tender and set off well by the fine breading. My husband has tried every schnitzel on the menu, and has a hard time declaring a favourite - he enjoys them all. The coffee is very good, the warm bun that comes prior to the meal is a nice treat. The service is usually very pleasant. A little more than a standard lunch in terms of cost, but worth it. Read more

Can't say enough about this place. My wife and I discovered E&A's 2 years ago and go back at least once a month. I read some negative comments on this page and frankly, I think that these were written by E&A's competition because for the most part the comments were complete rubbish. We have never had a bad experience there, and the food and service has been cosistently top notch. They have the best seafood platter we have ever enjoyed . Their meals although pricey are filling and delicious. It can be cold if you sit in the front in the winter though. If you sit at the chef's table you can watch your meal being prepared. Someone commented that the steaks are pre-cooked and warmed up?? I have watched my raw steak cooked to perfection in frontt of my own eyes so I don't know were that comment came from. We highly recommend E&A's and as a matter of fact, we are going there tonight again! P.S. They make the best Ceaser I have ever had too. Read more
